Unclear Peace is a War in Delay
Israel, the US and Iran have declared their "victories" in the current conflict.
Thus, there is no clear winner and the conflict will continue.
Thus, there is no clear winner and the conflict will continue.
The US unexpectedly entered the war with Iran on the side of Israel on June 21, 2025 and conducted the operation “Midnight Hammer” which involved heavy bomb strikes against three Iranian nuclear facilities.
After a show of US military power, Mr. Trump unilaterally declared a ceasefire early on June 24 which caught some of his top officials by surprise. Israel and Iran have exchanged a few more blows after that, but basically ceased the fire since June 25, and each side claimed its “victory.”
Israeli strikes on Iran killed at least 610 civilians and wounded more than 4,700, according to the health ministry. 24 people in Israel have been killed since the conflict began, according to official figures and rescuers. This is fairly objective data on the losses of the parties which cannot be said about the air strikes by Israel and the US on Iranian nuclear facilities.
……….
All sides of the conflict “have won.”
The winner of the conflict is not determined. Iran's nuclear infrastructure is damaged, but the damage is unclear. Then why did the ceasefire come? And why did they fight? Who won (or lost) what?
Have the goals of Israel and US attack been achieved? They say “yes.”
Has Iran defended its right to continue its nuclear program? Iranian government spokeswoman said that Iran would continue to pursue it.
All three countries declare their "victory" in the conflict. How can this be?
Quite simply.
The governments of the parties to the conflict have not convinced each other and the people of their countries with their actions and are now trying to convince the whole world with their words.
Israel.
Prime Minister B. Netanyahu said that "... Iran will not have a nuclear weapon… We have thwarted Iran's nuclear project. And if anyone in Iran tries to rebuild it, we will act with the same determination, with the same intensity, to foil any attempt" in an address to the nation after the ceasefire announcement.
The US.
On June 22, many US officials announced the destruction of Iran's nuclear facilities, stressing that any other interpretation of the events was "fake news."
D. Trump, in particular, reported in Truth Social: “Monumental Damage was done to all Nuclear sites in Iran, as shown by satellite images. Obliteration is an accurate term! The white structure shown is deeply imbedded into the rock, with even its roof well below ground level, and completely shielded from flame. The biggest damage took place far below ground level. Bullseye!!!”
However, many independent sources presented their vision: Reuters, citing an intelligence report, reported on June 24 that US strikes failed to destroy Iran's nuclear sites, The New York Times shared that point of view and one of the good and objective (in my opinion) independent experts, Tom Cooper, spoke in the same vein. Mr. Trump didn't like all that and he even decided to sue The New York Times and CNN over their Iran reports.
Iran.
“With all that commotion and all those claims, the Zionist regime was practically knocked out and crushed under the blows of the Islamic Republic,” ayatollah Khamenei stated on June 26.
He also claimed that Iran had given "the U.S. a big slap in the face" by attacking the Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, despite the fact that none of the roughly dozen missiles Iran fired at the base hit it.
So all sides are lying: they exaggerate achievements, hide losses, and pass off wishful thinking as reality which is probably right since "all warfare is based on deception."
……….
Time of the Big Lie.
We live in time of the Big Lie when all politicians and countries more or less create their own parallel reality and try to force everyone to believe in it.
The people don't have time to figure it all out, they have to make a living. However, everyone understands that there are a lot of lies in the reports about any event. The Russians call that "alternative point of view," the purpose of which is to question everything and thus divert attention from their vile and criminal actions. However, it is not only the Russians who are happy to use this “freedom of speech.” Many leaders of many countries often express their alternative point of view (which is often half-truth or just lies), and the world champion here is, of course, Mr. Trump.
Ignorant and preoccupied with their own survival people listen to these lies and plunge into the abyss of baseless hatred towards other nations (in authoritarian countries), or towards their political opponents within their own countries (in the so-called “democracies.”) And sometimes the country may start offensive (or predatory) war on the foreign territory which is legitimized by the “people’s opinion.”
There would be no wars if the politicians in all countries fight themselves in the front lines, because, unfortunately, as I already wrote “Wars (on foreign territory) are started by politicians, but they are fought by ignorant citizens who listen to their politicians and share their delusions (in other words, lies)… Politicians are not afraid to start a war because they 1) expect to win it and 2) do not intend to participate personally and die.… The dead do not need money, and it is money (which gives power) and also the thirst for glory that attract many politicians to try their luck on the warpath.”
I understand that sending Putin, Trump or Netanyahu into the battle will not work, but then people themselves must understand the true reason of the war and refuse to fight on foreign territory, otherwise they will have to die for the false ideas of their politicians. For example, around 1 million of the Russians have already died or injured in Ukraine, but the majority of Russia's population still supported the war unleashed by Mr Putin. So the enlightened people who do not allow their elites to wage wars of conquest is also a utopia, simply because of the fact that enlightened people would not have elected their current elites.
……….
“To be continued” for possible Nobel Peace Prize.
How long will the current peace between Israel and Iran last? Not much.
The first round of the Israel+US vs Iran war ended in about 12 days and has not revealed a winner. When a boxing match has no winner, a rematch is scheduled. This means that hostilities will resume sooner or later. World War III is escalating.
It's not surprising that recently a Republican congressman, Rep. Buddy Carter, has nominated President Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize for the Israel-Iran ceasefire.
"President Trump took bold action to ultimately champion peace through strength and facilitate a ceasefire framework that brought hostilities to a halt," he wrote in a June 24 letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee which will make its decision in coming October.
Something is wrong with humanity if Mr. Trump can get the Nobel Peace Prize for bombing Iran in collusion with Israel. This civilization is completely inadequate and will definitely destroy itself.
……….
P.S. I wonder if the International Criminal Court (ICC) is going to issue an arrest warrant for Mr. Trump for the unprovoked aggression against the sovereign state of Iran?
ICC has already issued something similar against B. Netanyahu, who was accused on November 21, 2024 of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
A good company is gathering for Mr. Putin who is also a convicted war criminal.
