The New Old President of the USA. And the Last One?
Now the US will get out of democratic stagnation.

So, Mr. Trump became elected 47th President of the US on November 5th. About 74+ million people voted for him vs. about 70+ million for Mrs. Harris. Now everything is going according to the schedule and the inauguration of the new old president will take place on January, 20th.
Some senators were also re-elected. The Democrats lost a few seats and now the Republicans will have a majority in the Senate (53 seats out of 100). It is expected that the Republican Party will also retain control of the House, but the procedure has not yet been completed. The US Supreme Court already has a Republican majority - 6 judges against 3 Democrats.
All that gives the Republican Party a relative majority in all three branches of the US government and the ability to begin implementing Mr. Trump's vision of happiness for the Americans.
……….
The main reasons for defeat of the Democrats are excessive liberalism, ignoring the opinion of the people and indolence.
The 2024 presidential election is a completely unique phenomenon in history of developed countries.
Mr. Trump is an indicted felon. And he will become the president of not some banana republic, but the US! How bad the Democrats acted (where they shouldn't) and didn't act (where they should) that they lost the presidential election to such a person!
American society has accumulated various problems (economics, illegal immigration, abortions, foreign policy, healthcare, democracy, LGBT rights, climate change) which the Democrats could not/did not want to solve. This was most evident in the Biden administration's long-term reluctance to do anything about the influx of illegal immigrants into the country. The people have become dissatisfied with this policy and have a desire to change it which the Democrats have long ignored. Ms. Harris argued in her election campaign that everything was fine in the country and actually proposed to maintain the existing order. Democrats hoped their stance on abortion, democracy and LGBT rights would win them the election. However, the results showed that all of this is less significant than economics and immigration for most Americans.
Mr. Trump, on the contrary, explained that everything in the country was bad and needed to be changed, that’s why many voters voted for the Republican Party, hoping for changes. It's very democratic. And naive, because all of America's current problems were created by both ruling parties together and therefore they are both to blame for the current situation in the country. However, someone had to win and as A. Finkelstein, a Republican strategist of 1970-s, said “A crook” — or, in Mr. Trump’s case, a convict — “always beats a fool.”
……….
Mr. Trump significantly improved his vote share among almost all demographics nationwide compared to his past two campaigns, with significant increases in support among African American, Hispanic and Asian voters. His electoral coalition was described as the most racially diverse coalition of voters for a Republican presidential candidate in decades.
I also think that many Democrat supporters, irritated by the overly liberal and impotent policies of the Democratic Party, also voted Republican, and thus on November 5th the democracy turned against the Democrats in America. They deserved this lesson.
The Democrats' main mistake is they forgot in the heat of political struggle that they were elected primarily to improve the quality of life of the people. A party which wants to easily win elections in the US should not strive to preserve democracy/US global leadership/defeat Republicans, China, Russia, etc., but provide health and well-being to the US citizens.
Now let's see if the Republicans can do it. If not, the parties will switch places again (if the country will survive Mr. Trump's ruling and reforms), and the people will keep choosing the lesser of two evils until they understand that both Republicans and Democrats work only for their own benefit, and therefore against the people.
……….
What did Mr. Trump promise if elected president?
He promised a lot of things. Here is one of the most recent lists:
- Mass deportation of 11 million undocumented immigrants.
- Closing the southern border and ending birthright citizenship.
- Unprecedented tariffs on foreign goods from all countries, but especially China.
- Expansive tax cuts to benefit corporations, tipped workers, seniors on Social Security, property owners in the Northeast and many others.
- Trillions in cuts in government spending with help from Elon Musk.
- Reforming the country’s health and food systems with help from vaccine skeptic Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
- Reversing regulations aimed at addressing climate change.
- Building a new missile defense shield with help from former NFL player Herschel Walker.
- And much more.
Mr. Trump actually promised «to fix everything», including to conduct the US complete system overhaul, stop the war in Ukraine in 24 hours and all other wars, too. Yes, he said all that, and he can just as easily retract this all - saying he was misunderstood, blaming it all on the resisting Democrats, or just ignoring the questions.
Many of these promises - for example, the restructuring of the state system in the US, the war in Ukraine and the Middle East, the expulsion of illegal immigrants - are very difficult, problematic and simply time-consuming issues. Therefore, all this looks very much like a daydreaming, but what to do, Mr. Trump is a daydreamer and a liar. This is a part of his personality that he and his voters pay no attention to.
However, the US is still a republic with an established system of checks and balances.
Mr. Trump wants to replace all the undesirables in the executive branch first, but many other changes need to be made through the legislation. The legislative branch (Congress) will still remain divided approximately in half (the Republicans will not get 60 votes in the Senate for controversial innovations and the House will be divided around 52% to 48%), so Mr. Trump will not have legislative support. Thus, he will need then to issue decrees and take full responsibility on himself. Mr. Trump is clearly inspired by the immunity of the US President, confirmed by the US Supreme Court in early July 2024, and can do a lot of things that will lead to more mess in the country than there was before.
……….
Mr. Trump has said the day after the election: “God spared my life for a reason… We are going to fulfill that mission together.”
I think that this mission is to break down the US into groups of states within next 4 years or create a dictatorship. And God seems to really support Mr. Trump on this path. In that case, he may go down in history as the last president of the US.
……….
What exactly will Mr. Trump do (and not do)?
- Naturally, the first thing he will do is close all his criminal cases. Special counsel Jack Smith has already approached the court to suspend the criminal proceedings against the future US president.
Mr. Trump will likely pardon some of his supporters serving sentences for participating in the attempted coup on January 6, 2021.
- Not immediately, but during his presidency, Mr. Trump will try to settle accounts with all of his former and current enemies on his list.
- After his inauguration, Mr. Trump will begin the rebuilding of the federal government by placing his people in all positions based on personal loyalty.
- Mr. Trump will implement then some aspects of his foreign and domestic policies. Some of them are right, some are not. Some will work, some will not. However, the Fed's inflation targeting policy (and therefore inflation itself) and the habit of all feds to incur debts will not go away which means the depreciation of the US dollar and the rise in prices (the main complaint of the Americans) will remain.
- Regarding Mr. Trump ending the wars: there is a lot of speculation on this topic. The main thing here is he will not be able to end the wars (let alone quickly). Humanity has entered a period of Disintegration and the chaos in the world will only increase, in particular, because of wars. Anyone who tries to bring some kind of order will only be increasing chaos. I perceive the return of D. Trump to the US presidency as a sign of deepening of this chaos, so he can start new wars, but not end the old ones. Unfortunately, «if you want peace, prepare for war.»
Yes, Mr. Trump may withhold weapons from Ukraine and thus force it to accept peace on Mr. Putin's terms, but it will still not be quick, as many in Europe will be against it and even some Republican senators are in favor of continuing military aid to Ukraine. This group will pursue a policy of R. Reagan “peace through strength” and, unlike Mr. Biden’s team, not be intimidated by Putin’s nuclear bluster.
And Israel is an independent player in the Middle East and will not necessarily take Mr. Trump's "orders." Iran is behind the actions of Hamas, Hezbollah and the Yemeni Houthis. Mr. Trump has long disliked Iran which reciprocates the dislike. Therefore, Mr. Trump will most likely stop the war in the Middle East by supporting Israel until it wins all its wars completely. And this cannot happen quickly either.
……….
Everyone will have problems with the new old US president.
Mr. Trump is shallow, emotional and selfish, but charismatic person which is capable of action (something the Democrats lack). Charisma can be positive (when it attracts) and negative (when it repels), but a charismatic person gets attention in any case and Mr. Trump is a good example of this.
Emotions make mountains out of molehills and vice versa, so Mr. Trump is prone to extremes. Excessive Ego amplifies these emotional waves and he very quickly changes his point of view from plus to minus and vice versa. Such people are always hard to deal with, and if they are at the helm of a large country - it will be (and has already been) very hard for many. The world's attention was focused on the US election because everyone understood that if Mr. Trump was elected president, everyone would have problems: Americans and immigrants, Democrats and Republicans, NATO, the UN and Europeans, Mr. Putin and Mr. Zelensky, Israel and Iran, China and India, Mr. Trump himself, etc.
What should countries do in such a situation? They need to stop their dependence on the US for not to be rocked by Mr. Trump's emotional waves.
What should people do in such a situation? “Fight, fight,” as Mr. Trump himself said immediately after the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania in July 2024.
……….
Now the US is gradually losing its leading position in the world. The more actively Mr. Trump strives to make America “great again” internationally, the more confrontation with other countries he may cause, including the use of nuclear weapons (if the war in Ukraine is needed to be truly stopped). Are peace-loving and generally calm Americans ready to participate in a nuclear war for the sake of America's greatness?
Greatness must be paid for dearly. I would like to remind you that the Russians have already lost about 600 thousand of their citizens in Ukraine for the greatness of Russia and Mr. Putin.
